Tommy’s Mock 1.0: Pre Super Bowl

1. Arizona Cardinals – Nick Bosa EDGE Ohio State; If Steve Kiem and Co. stay put at pick one, Nick Bosa should be the pick. Bosa has dominated stout competition since arriving in Columbus as a true freshman. On day one he can be slotted opposite Chandler Jones and form one of the most formidable edge duos in the entire league. His only potential red flag is the core injury he’s been rehabing since November, other than that he’s as complete as it gets as a NFL EDGE.
2. San Fransisco 49rs- Quinnen Williams DT Alabama; Despite drafting defensive lineman in 3 of the last 4 drafts passing up on arguably the best player in the draft is too good to pass up.  Pairing him with DeForrest Buckner would give the 49rs defense two forces up the middle in both the run and the pass.
3. New York Jets- Jonah Williams OT Alabama; The Jets entire front office ethos should and will be making Sam Darnold’s life as easy as possible. Despite a rough championship game Jonah Williams has been the best at his position throughout the year. His floor is an impact player at either tackle or guard something the Jets unit desperately needs.
4. Oakland Raiders- Josh Allen EDGE/LB Kentucky; The Raiders have holes all over their team and have 12 picks to address that. Josh Allen had a breakout senior year and has potential to be versatile piece for Paul Guenther rushing the passer and playing in coverage.
5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Deionte Thompson FS Alabama; Tampa’s secondary has been torched by its NFC South counterparts year after year. Thompson is a nice start. He brings all the length and range you could want at the position and is a willing tackler in run support. Alabama put him all over the field and I expect a similar expectation in the NFL.  I expect Thompson to make an immediate impact at the next level and will be an x factor for whatever team drafts him.
6. New York Giants- Kyler Murray QB Oklahoma; After spurning the 2018 QB draft class the Giants redeem themselves in 2019. In Murray the Giants get an unprecedented talent at the position. Despite being 5’10 he still has an absolute canon of an arm and has sublime athleticism that make him the ultimate dual threat. Paired with Saquon and OBJ this has high-octane offense written all over it. With Eli still in place for at least another year the Giants can afford to shoot for the fences.
7. Jacksonville Jaguars- Dwayne Haskins QB Ohio State; Blake Bortles needs to be done in Jacksonville. Dwayne Haskins lacks modern ideal mobility at the position but has an accurate NFL arm and would immediately be an upgrade at the position. With the offensive personnel already in place, Haskins simply needs to not turn the ball over and give this defense something to play for.
8. Detroit Lions- Clelin Ferrell EDGE Clemson; While he might not have the same ceiling that Brian Burns has, Ferrell is stout in both the run and pass and has 3 years of legit production(166TK,50.5TFL,27SK) at Clemson.  With Ziggy Ansah likely leaving this offseason, Ferrell can slot into his spot from the get go.
9. Buffalo Bills- Rashan Gary DL Michigan; With Kyle Williams retirement, Buffalo is  weaker up the middle. While I’d love to give Josh Allen some help upfront or on the outside, Gary’s potential is too good to pass up. The former #1 recruit has the ability to play both on the inside and on the edge. Sean McDonough will love his versatility and can get the most out of Gary’s sky-high potential.
10. Denver Broncos- Byron Murphy CB Washington; Byron Murphy is the best cornerback in this class and will fit perfectly along with Chris Harris and Bradley Roby in Denver. Murphy has a relentless motor and brings that dawg mentality to every single snap. He’s got lockdown potential written all over him as a suffocating man defender and brings a willing physicality to the run game. Denver should be comfortable putting him on an island across from Chris Harris.
11. Cincinnati Bengals- Devin White LB LSU; Vontaze Burfict’s career looks to be over leaving an already average group decimated. Devin White has the intangibles to be a 10 year starter in Cincinnati, and fits the athletic mold of the modern linebacker. He swarms to ball carriers and holds his own in pass coverage, completely comfortable in space. The real question is he more Roquan Smith or Jarrad Davis?
12. Green Bay Packers- Jachai Polite EDGE Florida; Green Bay desperately needs help on the EDGE with Clay Matthews and Nick Perry both aging. Polite fits the bill as a 3-4 OLB, he’s a little undersized (6’2 240) to be rushing the passer full-time but has the explosiveness to be a pass rusher and has upside in coverage due to impressive athleticism.
13. Miami Dolphins- Brian Burns EDGE Florida State; Miami has multiple needs and should be in the QB market. However, Burns is too good to pass up here in both value and need. Cameron Wake is still playing great football but is aging and Charles Harris has yet to justify his first round selection in 2017. Burns needs to put on weight but has the makeup to be a dominate rusher in the NFL. He already has an impressive arsenal of moves that should only get better with maturation and coaching.
14. Atlanta Falcons- Ed Oliver DT Houston; Atlanta was decimated by injuries and could go a myriad of ways with this top 15 selection. Oliver’s stock has dropped a bit but I think is a perfect fit in Atlanta. He’s similarly undersized to Falcon DT Grady Jarrret and the two could be a deadly combo in the trenches. Oliver’s floor is pretty high to me and his ceiling is equally high if he can add some pass rush to his freak athleticism.
15. Washington Redskins- Greedy Williams CB LSU; Despite Alex Smith’s career potentially being up in the air, there’s too much value here to take a run at a QB. Greedy Williams presents everything you’d want in a modern corner, he’s a fluid athlete with size (6’3 180) and length. Despite some lapses in judgement and lack of effort in some tape, he has enough wow plays and upside to be a comfortable pick for Washington.
16. Carolina Panthers- Cody Ford OT/G Oklahoma; Carolina has been awful upfront for a couple of years now and it’s time they address it. Ford is a behemoth (6’4 340) with surprising athleticism and a level of physicality you’d expect. He’ll be an instant upgrade in both the pass and run game wherever Carolina see’s fit.
17. Cleveland Browns- Jeffrey Simmons DT Mississippi St; The Browns need someone slotted across Larry Ogunjobi, Simmons is that guy. He’s got a nasty streak that’s right up John Dorsey’s alley and is a pure rush of explosion right up the middle.  He’s possibly the best pass rushing defensive tackle in the entire class. This will improve production across this defensive line as a unit on day one.
18. Minnesota Vikings- Dalton Risner OL Kansas State; The Vikings can’t progress as a team unless they start to improve their offensive line. Risner might not be the sexiest pick but this guy will make an impact on this team from day 1. He’s probably a right tackle but he really is versatile enough to play wherever he’s needed. He’s good in pass protection and puts guys in the dirt consistently in the run game. A move like this is the first step in fully unlocking this offense.
19. Tennesse Titans- Christian Wilkins DL Clemson; The Titans have a very good roster but lack an inside presence outside of the perennially underrated Jurrell Casey. Christian Wilkins fits the value/need and is a guy I could see Mike Vrabel loving. He’s a leader with championship pedigree, impressive 4 year production, and he’s incredibly versatile.
20. Pittsburgh Steelers- De’Andre Baker CB Georgia; The Steelers a have been ailing in the defensive backfield for the last couple years and have swung and mostly missed in the draft. Baker might not have the athletic traits that the two corners picked above him have, but he’s got a high football IQ and not many weaknesses. He’s just what the doctor ordered in Pittsburgh and should be CB1 from day 1.
21. Seattle Seahawks- David Edwards OT Wisconsin; Edwards might not have the highest upside but eliminates a position of need. Edwards can occupy the RT spot on day 1 opposite Duane Brown and immediately fill a spot that’s been iffy at best for the last couple years. Russell Wilson is the catalyst for this teams success, Seattle deserves to give him much more to work with upfront.
22. Baltimore Ravens- DK Metcalf WR Ole Miss; Baltimore needs to do everything it can to foster growth for Lamar Jackson. Metcalf has the upside to be an absolute weapon for Jackson and make his job so much easier. Metcalf is the rare breed of receiver with size and explosiveness. He has the tools to be one the elite receivers in the NFL something Baltimore cannot afford to pass up.
23. Houston Texans- Yodney Cajuste OT West Virginia; Cajuste has got ideal length,strength, and athleticism to be a good starter at tackle in the NFL. Houston undoubtedly has one of the worst offensive line units and like many other teams with young franchise QB’s need to build around that position. Cajuste would be an instant starter in this paltry unit.
24. Oakland Raiders (from Chicago Bears)- Nasir Adderly FS Delaware; Adderly is a draft darling of many in the draft community and it’s hard not to hop on the bandwagon. He dominated FCS competition and has mouth-watering range and athleticism. He is highly instinctual and high points the ball with ease. He will be a turnover machine on Sundays.
25. Philadelphia Eagles- Mack Wilson LB Alabama; The Eagles defense needs some help at linebacker. Jordan Hicks can’t shake the injury bug and both Nigel Bradham and Kamu Grugier Hill wont cut it. Wilson fill whatever spot they want him too and is a great athlete who exceeds in coverage. Jim Schwartz will get the  best outta this baller.
26. Indianapolis Colts- N’keal Harry WR Arizona State; The Colts lack of weapons outside of TY Hilton was evident in the divisional loss at Kansas City. Harry is another big receiver who is great after the catch and will eat in the red zone with Andy Luck throwing him balls.
27. Oakland Raiders (from Dallas Cowboys)- TJ Hockenson TE Iowa; After adding two playmakers on defense with their first two picks, they can look to adding a great piece on offense. I’d honestly be surprised if Hockenson is still here at this spot, it’s hard not to fall in love with his tape. He has no weaknesses in his game, is a superb athlete who loves to block and has unbelievable hands/ability to adjust to routes and highpoint the ball. With Jared Cook being an upcoming FA, Hockenson is a bona-fide Gruden/Mayock grinder.
28. Los Angeles Chargers- Dexter Lawrence DT Clemson; The Chargers need to get better up the middle. They were gutted up the middle by the Patriots and the Ravens. Lawerence is a true plug in the middle and will fit perfectly as run stopper next to Joey Bosa and Melvin Ingram on day 1. Lawrence has nice potential to see some pass rush production come in a front 4 this talented.
29. Kansas City Chiefs- Devin Bush LB Michigan; Devin Bush will bring some much-needed speed to a Chiefs LB core that lacks just that. He’s great in space and will excel in blitzing schemes for a Chiefs team that needs help at LB.
30. Green Bay Packers- Chris Lindstrom OG Boston College; Lindstrom will be a plug in play prospect from Green Bay at either G spot. Is a solid all around guard who started for years at Boston College. Versatile enough to move around the o-line in case of injury. He undoubtedly will help get offense back on track with first year coach, and mastermind guru behind the 2018 Tennessee Titans offense, Matt LaFluer.
31. Los Angeles Rams- Montez Sweat EDGE Mississippi State; We don’t know if Dante Fowler is in the Rams long-term plans, either way there is still a need on the EDGE. Sweat has length in spades and has a nice arsenal of pass rush moves. Easy to see him to developing very nicely in Wade Phillips system.
32. New England Patriots- Noah Fant TE Iowa; It remains to be seen if this is indeed Rob Gronkowski’s last season. That being said, even if Gronk sticks around, Fant is too juicy of an option to turn down. He can be lined up all over the field and has more than ideal athleticism for the position. He will be another matchup nightmare for this Patriots offense.
